Mirijam Glaser-Ta'asa
Mirijam Glaser-Ta'asa ( Hebrew מרים גלזר-תעסה, Born August 11, 1929 in the Kingdom of Yemen ) is an Israeli politician .
Life
In 1934, the family's Aliyah took place , and they immigrated together with Mirijam into the League of Nations mandate for Palestine . Glaser-Ta'asa grew up in Newe Zedek ( Hebrew נְוֵה צֶדֶק, lit. Waiting for Justice ) near Tel Aviv and attended Talpiot High School. Since 1945 Glaser-Ta'asa was a member of the Irgun Tzwa'i Le'umi and after the Israeli declaration of independence in 1948 she became an officer and served in the Zahal .
Glaser-Ta'asa then studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem , which she completed with a bachelor's degree. She then completed a degree at the Jewish Theological Seminary , which she completed with a master's degree. From 1951 to 1980 she worked as the headmistress of the Johanna Jabotinsky ( Hebrew יוענה ז'בוטינסקי) named High School in Be'er Ja'akob ( Hebrew בְּאֵר יַעֲקֹב, lit. Jacobs Fountain ) between Nes Ziona and Rishon LeZion .
From 1978 to 1980 she was a lecturer at Levinsky Teachers' Seminary .
Glaser-Ta'asa was Likud Knesset MP from 1981 to 1988 and Deputy Minister of Education from August 11, 1981 to September 13, 1984. In the 1984 elections, she was re-elected, but not again Deputy Minister, although she was appointed Chairman of the Immigration and Admission Committee had been. She lost her seat in the 1984 Knesset elections.
