Mirko Reeh (born December 5, 1976 in Bad Hersfeld ) is a German chef and television chef .

Life

Reeh grew up in Bad Hersfeld and now runs cooking schools in Frankfurt am Main and on Mallorca. In 2004 he was appointed head of Euro Toques . From 2006 to 2008 he ran a restaurant in Königstein im Taunus . Then Reeh opened a restaurant in Frankfurt-Bornheim. In 2009 his restaurant moved to Frankfurt's Westend and merged with another restaurant. In addition, Reeh set several records (including for the longest pasta run in the world at 47 meters) and is thus in the Guinness Book of Records . In 2013 Reeh opened a new restaurant in Bornheim, the Private Food Club - Mirko Reeh's living room kitchen. The cooking school in Frankfurt-Bornheim also celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013. From 2014 to 2018 Reeh had a cooperation with the Kempinski Frankfurt Gravenbruch and let his culinary influence work in their Hessian restaurant Torez. In October 2014 Mirko Reeh opened an indoor playground around the theme of "Lego" next to his Private Food Club restaurant. Reeh celebrated its 20th anniversary on May 27, 2017. On January 17, 2019 Reeh took over his long-term knife supplier Chroma Messer GmbH & Co KG from founder Christian Romanowski and is now the general importer for Germany of Chroma Cnife .

TV and radio appearances

Since 2005 Reeh has had a variety of television appearances, including a. in Mirko Reehs Kochmobil (RTL, 70 episodes, 2005-2006), various programs on QVC (approx. 30 programs, 2005-2019), Hessen à la carte ( Hessischer Rundfunk , 54 episodes, 2005-2007), Echt Lecker (TV Gusto, 80 episodes, 2005-2013), Maintower (Hessischer Rundfunk, 180 episodes, until 2012) and Koch was draus ( Hessischer Rundfunk , 24 episodes, 2008 and 2009), as well as "Koch Undercover" (Sat1 breakfast television, 73 episodes since 2012 ). Mirko Reeh has numerous broadcast formats on YouTube and Facebook. Programs like the "Reehderei" a talk and cooking show have enjoyed great popularity since 2013 with over 3 million viewers. The most successful format is "Koch Undercover" which was produced by SAT 1 breakfast television until 2019. Reeh has continued to direct the show since January 2020. The format has so far had more than 33 million viewers on the YouTube channel of SAT 1 Breakfast TV and on Reeh's own channel. Since 2019 Reeh has also been producing "RateMahl", a game show all about cooking.

Books and radio plays

In addition to his appearances on television and radio, Reeh has published a number of cookbooks in Kochweltverlag since 2003, e.g. B. Various topics in the context of the My Recipes series, and B3 Verlag. He also spoke various characters in radio plays, e.g. B. the king Schnurtelpomp in the witch Lilli, the Lothar in TKKG (both 2008) or also as himself in an episode Die Ferienbande and the colossal terror . The title of the series is "Culinary Journey with Mirko Reeh". The first book in the series is about Israel. After a post on Facebook to report on the new book, Reeh was publicly hostile to the book topic with more than 100,000 mostly negative comments. In December, the book received the Gourmand World Cookbook Award. The book series "Culinary Journey with Mirko Reeh" was continued as an author duo in 2018 with the following titles: Louisiana, Illinois and Philadelphia. In 2019 Reeh published the following books: Soups around the world (with Barbara Stromberg) and Handkäse Deluxe 3. In 2020 he and co-author Barbara Stromberg published a book with stories and recipes for "Herbs & Spices".
