Mirko Tomassoni (born April 24, 1969 in San Marino ) is a San Marino politician. Together with Alberto Selva , he was head of state ( Capitano Reggente ) of San Marino from October 1, 2007 to April 1, 2008 .

Life

Tomassoni has been an employee of the Police (Polizia Civile) since 1994 . As a result of a traffic accident, he has been dependent on a wheelchair since 1999. In 2004 he founded the Attiva-Mente association , which advocates the interests of the disabled. Tomassoni is active as a marksman with the air rifle, in 2015 he represented San Marino at the World Cup. In 2015 he was elected chairman of the San Marinese section of the International Police Association (IPA).

Tomassoni is married and has one daughter, he lives in Montegiardino .

politics

Tomassoni was a member of the municipal council (Giunta di Castello) of Montegiardino for several years . In the parliamentary elections in 2006 he was elected as an independent on the list of the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici in the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the Parliament of San Marino. He became a member of the Health Committee and represented San Marino at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). For the period from October 1, 2007 to April 1, 2008 he was elected Capitano Reggente together with Alberto Selva .

In the early parliamentary elections in 2008, he moved back to the list of the PSD in parliament. He became a member of the Interior Committee and was again a delegate to the IPU.

In the 2012 election he ran again on the list of the PSD, missed direct entry into parliament, but replaced one of the PSD ministers, whose parliamentary mandate was suspended during their term of office, in parliament. As in the previous legislative period, he was a member of the Interior Committee and a delegate to the IPU. He announced his resignation in January 2014, and Michele Muratori replaced him in the Consiglio Grande e Generale.

In the 2017 election he moved back into parliament, this time on the list of the Sinistra Socialista Democratica , which had emerged from an association of the Sinistra Unita and other left-wing groups. He became a member of the health committee and head of the San Marinese group at the IPU.
