Miroslav Menc

Miroslav Menc (born March 16, 1971 in Rumburk ) is a former Czech shot putter .

He was national champion six times outdoors (1993–1997, 2000) and three times indoors (1997, 1998, 2001).

At the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 , he was eliminated in qualification as well as at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the 1997 World Championships in Athens. In 1998 he came in sixth place at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Valencia , but was subsequently disqualified because he had tested positive for stanozolol in a recently carried out doping control and was banned for two years for this violation of the doping regulations .

In 2000 he won bronze at the European Indoor Championships in Ghent and was tenth at the Olympic Games in Sydney , and in 2001 he was sixth at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Lisbon .

On April 26, 2001, he was tested positive for norandrosterone, a metabolite of nandrolone , during a training check and was banned for life as a repeat offender.
