Misbun Sidek

Misbun Sidek (born February 17, 1960 in Kanchong Darat , Banting , Selangor ) is a former Malaysian badminton player .

Life

He is the oldest of the six Sidek brothers. His siblings Jalani and Razif won bronze in doubles at Olympia in 1992 , the second youngest brother Rashid won a. a. Commonwealth Games . Rahman Sidek , on the other hand, was rarely able to put himself in the forefront internationally. The Sideks became famous for an extremely trimmed serve they created, which was later banned by the IBF . Misbun himself won the Swedish Open , German Open , Singapore Open and Canada Open , among others . At the Badminton World Championship in 1980 he won bronze in doubles with Jalani Sidek . After his active career, he began a career as a coach and looked after Lee Chong Wei in the Malaysian national team. On August 28, 2008 he was awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) .
