The Mittagsfels nature reserve is located in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 19.13 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection by ordinance of December 11, 1979 , extends north of the local community of Niederalben . The state road L 169 runs not far to the west and flows the Steinalb .
The area includes melaphyr rock slopes with dry grassland , thermophilic borders, bushes and forests.
