The Steinalb estuary nature reserve is located in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The 18.13 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection by ordinance of December 15, 1988 , extends northeast of the local municipality of Ulmet . In the area, the Steinalb flows into the Glan , which flows through the area completely in a west-east direction. The B 420 runs north .

The area includes a near-natural river meadow landscape with gravel, sand and gravel banks , still water zones , steep banks and alluvial forest areas , meadows and a hillside forest with spring horizons.
