The Mittelberg is about 510  m above sea level. NHN high, wooded mountain west of the Spalter hill country in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The mountain is one of the highest elevations in the Haundorf Forest .

The wooded Mittelberg rises in the northwest of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district. To the south is the Haundorf district of Seitersdorf , to the west the Haubenberg rises . The Seitersdorfer Bach flows to the south and the Ziegelleitenbach to the north , both tributaries of the Erlbach . The district road WUG 22 leads south, the federal road 466 east past the mountain.
