The Mitteldorfer Bach is a brook in the municipality of Virgen ( Lienz district ). It flows into the Isel southeast of Mitteldorf .

course

The Mitteldorfer Bach rises south of the Bretterwand in the east of the Frosnitzkamm and east of the Lahntaler Alm in several spring arms. The Mitteldorfer Bach flows in the sequence to the south, where it is at an altitude of 1250  m above sea level. A. takes up a brook on the left side, which rises southeast of the Planissbichl or south of the Hintereggkogel . The catchment area of this tributary is separated from the Mitteldorfer Bach by the ridge of the Mitteregge . After this confluence, the Mitteldorfer Bach flows further south, where it first passes the Virger district of Bach and then flows through the center of Mitteldorf. To the southeast of Mitteldorf, the Mitteldorfer Bach finally flows into the Isel on the left.

geology

The slopes through which the Mitteldorfer Bach flows are characterized by moraine deposits mixed with debris. On the slopes on both sides of the exit of the Mitteldorfer Bach morphologically conspicuous loose rock walls run parallel to the valley, whereby these are lateral moraines of former glaciers from the Mitteldorfer valley or erosively prepared walls from the mighty loose rock cover of the valley flanks. There is no alluvial debris fan like on the Isel tributaries located upstream in the Mitteldorfer Bach, but rather the Isel cuts into a solid rock zone ( Matreier Zone ) at the mouth of the Mitteldorfer Bach .
