Miwa Fukuhara
Miwa Fukuhara ( Japanese 福 原 美 和 , Fukuhara Miwa ; born December 13, 1944 in Ōta , Tokyo ) is a former Japanese figure skater who started in a single run .
Fukuhara became the Japanese champion in 1960 and from 1962 to 1966 . She took part in world championships seven times . Her best result was sixth place, which she achieved at the 1963 , 1964 and 1965 World Championships . It was the best placement of a Japanese woman at world championships up to that point. Fukuhara represented Japan twice at the Olympic Games . In 1960 she was 21st and in 1964 in Innsbruck she achieved fifth place, the best result of a Japanese woman in figure skating at the Olympic Games until 1992.
