Mladen Plakalović (born September 25, 1991 in Sarajevo , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian cross-country skier .

Career

Plakalović has been competing in the Balkan Cup since 2007 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he finished 115th in the sprint. The following year he won at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 78th position the 15 km freestyle. He reached 97th place at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 . In March 2011 he achieved his first podium finish in Pale with third place over 10 km freestyle and at the end of the 2010/11 season he achieved third place in the overall standings. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he took 82nd place in the sprint. In February 2015 he won 63rd place in the 15 km freestyle at the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . In the same month he took his first wins in the Balkan Cup in Zlatibor over 5 km and 10 km and thus achieved fourth place in the overall standings. In the 2015/16 season he won the 10 km freestyle twice in Pale . He also came third in Ravna Gora and at the end of the season he finished second in the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup. In the following season he came in third place eight times in the Balkan Cup and reached fourth place in the overall standings. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , he finished 83rd in the sprint. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he came in 76th place over 15 km freestyle.
