Moenui is a small settlement in the Marlborough District on the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is located about 2.5 km east of Havelock on the Mahakipawa arm of Pelorus Sound , one of the many inlets of the Marlborough Sounds . The settlement can be reached via a branch line between Havelock and Picton .
The settlement consists of around 40 houses, most of which are holiday homes and most of them are near the shore.
Education
Moenui itself does not have a school, the closest schools are in Havelock and Linkwater , a small farming community around 6 km east of Moenui .
