Mohammed Said Basrawi

Muhammad Said Basrawi ( Arabic محمد سعيد البصراوي, DMG Muḥammad Saʿīd al-Baṣrāwī ; * 8. December 1931 in Mecca ) is a Saudi diplomat in retirement .

Education

In 1957 he became an engineer in economics and political science at Cairo University .

Career

He entered the foreign service and became an attaché at the embassy in Cairo . From 1962 to 1969 he was Consul General in New York City . He later headed the Department of Arab Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jeddah , subsequently the Department of Islamic Affairs. From 1974 to March 1976 he was ambassador to Ankara . From 1983 to 1987 he was ambassador to Jakarta .
