Mohanlal Saksena

Shri Mohanlal Saksena (born October 25, 1896 , according to other information: October 26, 1896 in Ashrafabad, Lucknow , † around August 16, 1965 ) was an Indian politician of the Indian National Congress (INC), who was both a member of the Lok Sabha and who was Rajya Sabha and was Minister of Welfare and Rehabilitation between 1948 and 1950.

Mohanlal Saksena, son of Shri Tej Krishna, attended primary school Rastogi Pathshala and the Church Mission High School and then completed an undergraduate degree at Canning College in Lucknow , which he with a Bachelors of Science ended (B. Sc.). Having a degree in Law at the University of Allahabad with a Bachelor of Laws was completed (LL. B.), he took a job as a lawyer on. He also taught mathematics as a lecturer at Isabella Thoburn College in Lucknow.

In the mid-1920s, Saksena began his political career in local politics and was initially a member of the Lucknow City Council from 1923 to 1925. At the same time he was a member of the Legislative Council of Uttar Pradesh between 1924 and 1926 and during this time he acted as Parliamentary Director ( Whip ) of the INC . He was later from 1929 to 1935 Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh UPCC Committee (Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee) and was a member of the Central Legislative Assembly of British India between 1935 and 1947 . During this time he was also President of the UPCC between 1937 and 1939.

On December 9, 1946 he became a member of the Constituent Assembly of India (Constituent Assembly of India) , of which he was a member until January 24, 1950. During this time he was Secretary of the INC Group from 1946 to 1949 . In 1948 he became Minister for Welfare and Rehabilitation in the first Nehru cabinet and held this ministerial office until 1950. After the constitution of India came into force on January 26, 1950, he first became a member of the Provisional Parliament and after the first elections between 1952 and 1957 belonged to Lok Sabha as representative of the constituency of Lucknow District-Bara Banki District in the first legislative term . Saksena, who was also president of the Delhi- based All India Housing Association , became a member of the Rajya Sabha on November 22, 1959 , of which he was a member until April 2, 1964.

His marriage to Shrimati Shakuntala Debi in 1938 resulted in a son and a daughter.
