The Mohawk River is a tributary of the McKenzie River , approximately 16 miles long, in west-central Oregon in the United States .

It drains parts of the foothills of the Cascade Mountains at the southeast end of the Willamette Valley northeast of Springfield .

The river has its source in northern Lane County about 12 miles northeast of Springfield. It flows mainly to the southwest and flows from the north at the north end of Springfields into the McKenzie River.

The river gave the name to the Mohawk River tribe of the Kalapuyan , Indians who inhabited the river valley in the 19th century. They are not related to the Mohawk in the eastern United States .
