Moksha is the fifth studio album by the German psychedelic rock band My Sleeping Karma . It was released on May 29, 2015 via Napalm Records . With Moksha the band was able to place itself in the German album charts for the first time .

Emergence

The musicians began in the summer of 2014 after her performance at the Summer Breeze - Festival to work on their fifth album. The title song was in the band's history from a first piano - Lick addition. The recordings took place again in the Mjusix studio in Aschaffenburg and began on December 7, 2014 and were interrupted over Christmas and New Year . The recordings were finished at the end of January 2015. For the first time the musicians recorded vocals . The album was produced by the drummer Steffen. The album cover was designed by Sebastian Jerke. For the song Prithvi one was music video rotated.

While the world of dreams was depicted on the previous album Soma , Moksha deals with reality . In the Indian religions of Buddhism , Hinduism , Jainism and Sikhism , Moksha means salvation or liberation and represents the final goal in life. On the album cover, the four goals in life are presented as bridges that become roots . These roots form a wooden temple where Ganesha rules.

Daniel Laich from the online magazine Stormbringer.at praised the "ingenious song structures with highly memorable, meditative melodies" that "won't let you go even without sensory-enhancing substances". The album results in a "musical journey at the end of which the positive karma just gushes out of you". Laich rated the album 4.5 out of five. According to Lothar Gerber from the German magazine, My Sleeping Karma “delivered quality work with an emphasis on quality and work” and awarded five out of seven points.

Moksha reached number 69 on the German album charts.
