Vltava cascade

The Vltava Cascade (Czech: Vltavská kaskáda ) is the name for a system of dams along the Vltava in the Czech Republic . It includes both the reservoir with the most water ( Orlík ) and the largest reservoir in the country ( Lipno ). The reservoirs and power plants of the cascade are mainly for power generation and flood protection of Prague (all lakes are from Prague seen upriver). The lakes are also open to tourism, especially the Lipno reservoir, and are used for sailing and rowing . The Vltava Cascade represents one of the largest reservoirs in the entire Elbe catchment area. The individual reservoirs are:
