Power plant output: 2 × 6.94 MW

The Vrané nad Vltavou hydropower plant is located about 17 kilometers south of the Czech capital Prague in Vrané nad Vltavou and is part of the Vltava cascade .

The original purpose of the facility was to raise the water level of the Vltava for inland navigation. For this purpose there are two locks in the northern part of the dam. The main purpose of the plant today is to generate electricity. In the power plant on the southern bank, two Kaplan turbines each generate an output of 6.94  MW . There are four weir openings, each 20 meters wide, between the locks and the power station. In the event of a flood, they can discharge 2800 m³ of water per second.

The backwater of the power plant extends to the Štěchovice hydropower plant, which is almost 13 kilometers upstream . The damming extends about 3 kilometers into the valley of the Sázava , which flows into the Vltava 7 kilometers from the power station.
