Mona Solheim (born August 4, 1979 in Busan , South Korea ) is a former Norwegian Taekwondoin who was active in the light and middleweight division. In 2007 she won bronze at the World Cup.

Solheim was born in South Korea, but adopted by her Norwegian parents when she was seven months old, along with her sister Nina . She grew up in Namsos and came to Taekwondo together with her sister in the Namsos Taekwondo Club . She was trained by Stig Kramer after being accepted into the national team. Solheim played her first international title fights in the middleweight division at the European Championships in Helsinki in 1996 , three years later she started in Edmonton for the first time at a world championship , but she was eliminated early in both tournaments. Also in the following years Solheim remained unsuccessful at the international championships. But she finally celebrated her greatest sporting success at the 2007 World Cup in Beijing . In the class up to 63 kilograms she only lost in the semi-finals against Karine Sergerie and won bronze, the only international medal of her career. Solheim achieved further good results by reaching the second round at the 2009 World Cup in Copenhagen and the quarter-finals at the 2010 European Championships in Saint Petersburg . After missing qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games , Solheim ended her active career.

Her twin sister Nina won medals at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and 2008 in Beijing Mona Solheim accompanied her sister as a sparring partner .
