Properties of the vine

The leaves are large, three-lobed and dark green. The grapes are slightly longitudinally pyramidal. Budding, flowering and the beginning of ripening occur roughly at the same time as the Pinot Noir . The frost resistance is considered good. The variety demands good locations with sufficient ripening time and is harvested early.

The wines are strong, rich in color and have strong tannins . The variety can be expanded very well as a single variety, but is also suitable for blending with fruity red wines.
