Monastyrez ( Ukrainian Монастирець ; Russian Монастырец , Polish Manasterzec ) is a village in the southeast of the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast with about 1000 inhabitants (2001).

Saint Nicholas Church from 1814

The village is the administrative center of the 49.57 km² district council of the same name in the south of Schydatschiw Rajon , which also includes the villages of Kotoryny ( Которини , ) with about 300 inhabitants, Protessy ( Протеси , ) with about 600 inhabitants and Stare Selo ( Старе Село , ) with about 650 inhabitants.

In Monastyrez is the St. Nicholas Church, a wooden church of the Ukrainian-Greek-Catholic Church built in 1814 .

The village is located at an altitude of 269  m on the bank of the Wilschynka ( Вільшинка ), a 5 km long mountain stream that flows into the Dniester . The Shydachiv district center is 26 km northwest and the Lviv oblast center 85 km north of Monastyrez. Territorial road T-14-19 runs through the village .
