Mondiali Antirazzisti

The Mondiali Antirazzisti is a non-commercial football tournament that has been held annually since 1997 by politically interested football fans and fan groups near Modena . At the sporting event, over 8,000 people in 200 international teams from over 40 countries play football together on small pitches to set an example against racism and exclusion .

organization

The meeting is organized by the Italian fan project Progetto Ultra and the Istoreco history institute from Reggio nell'Emilia . The event, which is free of charge for all participants, is financially supported by the Football Against Racism in Europe network , the European Union , the Emilia-Romagna region , the province of Bologna, the city of Casalecchio di Reno and other institutional and private sponsors. In addition to soccer, there are now basketball and volleyball tournaments .

Supporting program

The soccer tournament is accompanied by concerts, film screenings, workshops and discussion events on the subject of racism and migration . Discussions with contemporary witnesses with Italian partisans and a visit to the site of the Marzabotto massacre , the worst war crime committed by German soldiers during World War II in Italy, are also offered.

The venue changed in 2000 from Montefiorino to Montecchio, in 2007 to Casalecchio di Reno near Bologna and in 2011 to the Bosco Albergati near Castelfranco Emilia.
