Monica Aksamit (born February 18, 1990 in New York City ) is an American saber fencer .
successes
Monica Aksamit won the Pan American Championships in the team competition in Panama City in 2016 and in Havana in 2018 . In 2017 she also came second with this. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro she took part as a substitute in the team competition and was used in the final battle for third place against Italy . The game ended at 45:30 in favor of the US team, which included Aksamit, Ibtihaj Muhammad , Dagmara Wozniak and Mariel Zagunis . At the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019 , she won gold with the team.
Aksamit studied at Pennsylvania State University , for which she was also active in college sports. She graduated in movement science in 2012 .
