Mónica Cruz Sánchez (born March 16, 1977 in Madrid ) is a Spanish dancer and actress .

Life

Mónica Cruz Sánchez is the daughter of the auto mechanic Eduardo Cruz and the hairdresser Encarna Sánchez. She has two siblings; her older sister is the actress Penélope (* 1974), her younger brother Eduardo (* 1985) is a singer.

Mónica started dancing at the age of four. At 17 she joined the ensemble of the famous Spanish dancer Joaquín Cortés , with whom she traveled around the world for seven years.

In 1998 she was responsible for the choreography of the film The Girl of Your Dreams ( La Niña de tus ojos ), in which her sister Penélope played the lead role. In 2002 she switched to the role of Silvia Jáuregui in the Spanish dance series Un paso adelante (German: Dance - the dream of fame , 2002-2005) in front of the camera. The result was the band Upa dance , in which Mónica was a member, along with other actors in the series. This was followed by guest appearances in various Spanish television series and u. a. Roles in Last Hour (2006) alongside American rapper DMX and in The Inquiry (2006) with Ornella Muti . In 2008 she played in Asterix at the Olympic Games .

Together with her sister Penélope, she designed a collection for the Spanish fashion chain Mango , for whose advertising campaign they also model together. At the end of 2007, Mónica played with her sister Penélope in a music video made by her brother Eduardo. You embody a lesbian couple there.

Mónica Cruz announced in a blog for the Spanish newspaper El País in mid-January 2013 that she was fulfilling her desire to have children by donating sperm. On May 14, 2013, she gave birth to a girl in a clinic in Madrid.
