Monika Beck

Monika Beck (born June 14, 1941 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German politician ( CDU ), gallery owner and publisher .

Life

Beck is the daughter of CDU politician Otto Eichenlaub . In 1960 she passed her A-levels at a humanistic grammar school. In 1967 she founded in Zweibrücken the Edition and Gallery Beck , also known as Gallery Monika Beck and Galerie m Beck , with whom she in 1970 Schwedenhof ( Schwarzenacker moved). In 1990 she handed over the reins to her eldest son Mathias Beck.

Monika Beck is married and has six children. One of them is the CDU member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament and gallery owner Julia Philippi .

politics

She belonged to the state parliament of Saarland during the tenth and eleventh legislative periods (1990–1999). There she was a member of the economic committee and chair of the committee for education, culture and sport. She also appeared for the CDU parliamentary group as a cultural and European political spokesperson. In 1999 she was re-elected to the state parliament, but resigned her mandate in the same year in order - with the rank of State Secretary - to become representative of the Saarland at the federal government in Berlin; she held this office until October 2005.
