Julia Philippi born Beck (* 18th November 1962 in Neustadt on the Wine Route ) is a German politician of the CDU , deputies of the state parliament of Baden-Wuerttemberg and gallery owner .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Homburg , she studied art history , economics and Romance studies in Heidelberg . She has been the owner of the Julia Philippi Gallery in Dossenheim since 1992 .

Political career

Philippi joined the CDU in 1998, ran for the local council in Dossenheim and the district council of the Rhein-Neckar district in 2004 and was elected deputy mayor of her hometown in 2007. Her political focus was on cultural and family policy. On January 1, 2018, she moved to the state parliament of Baden-Wuerttemberg as a successor for Georg Wacker , who became managing director of Staatliche Toto-Lotto GmbH Baden-Württemberg . There she is a member of the Committee for Science, Research and Art and the Petitions Committee . Philippi is a member of the board of trustees of the state center for political education Baden-Württemberg , the jury "Radiale - Kunst im Kreis" of the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, chairwoman of the Heidelberger Kunstverein e. V. , 2nd chairwoman of the Jugendkunstschule Heidelberg / Bergstrasse e. V. and member of the supervisory board of the youth facility Stift Sunnisheim gGmbH , Sinsheim .

Private

Philippi grew up in a political family. Her maternal grandfather, Otto Eichenlaub was after the Second World War, district president of the governmental district Rheinhessen-Pfalz and member of the Advisory State Assembly (Rheinland-Pfalz) . Her mother Monika Beck was a member of the Saarland state parliament . Philippi is Roman Catholic, has three children and lives with her husband in Dossenheim near Heidelberg.
