Monika Fröschl

Monika Brigitte Elisabeth Fröschl (born March 15, 1959 in Munich ; † March 8, 2018 ) was a German doctor .

Life

Monika Fröschl studied medicine and in 1983 at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich to Dr. med. PhD. In 1992 she completed her habilitation at the Technical University of Munich . She was a specialist in skin and venereal diseases.

In 1989 she became professor for health science and medicine in social work and care at the Catholic Foundation University in Munich (KSH) , in particular for the areas of health and health promotion . From 1999 to 2002 she was the KSH's women's representative. She was also an adjunct professor at the Dermatological and Allergological Clinic am Biederstein of the Technical University of Munich, she led an interdisciplinary team ( medicine , nursing , social work , art therapy , psychology and administration ) for advice and care for people with HIV and AIDS .

Fröschl was a co-founder and board member of the Bavarian AIDS Foundation for over 30 years. She also got involved as a spiritual guide .

For her work she was awarded the Krenkl Prize of the City of Munich (1998) and the Prize Women Promote Women (1999).

On March 8, 2018, she had a fatal accident on a ski tour.
