Monika György (born July 13, 1982 in Gheorgheni ) is a Romanian cross-country skier .

Career

György took part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski from 2000 to 2012 . Her best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme was 49th place in the sprint. In December 2004 she ran her first of a total of eight World Cup races in Asiago , which she finished with 48th place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2005 in Oberstdorf , she reached 62nd place over 10 km freestyle and 58th place in sprint. Her best result at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Pragelato was 50th in the 30 km mass start race. From 2007 to 2012 she mainly participated in the Balkan Cup. She got 12 wins and finished third in the 2009/10 season and second place in the overall standings in the 2006/07 , 2007/08 , 2008/09 and 2011/12 season. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , she finished 68th in the sprint and 65th place over 10 km classic. Their best result at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver was the 42nd place over 10 km freestyle. In the summer of 2010 she came on the podium four times in the Rollerski World Cup , including two wins and took sixth place in the overall standings. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , she came in 62nd place in the sprint, 50th place over 10 km classic and 46th place in 15 km pursuit race.
