Monika Liedtke (born October 26, 1966 ) is a former German cross-country runner and summer biathlete specializing in cross-country skiing.
Monika Liedtke lives in Berlin and works as an office clerk. She started during her active sports career for the BSBV in 1991 in Berlin and was trained by Dietmar Liedtke. Initially, she was active as a track and field athlete in the cross-country discipline and belonged to the national elite. At the German Championships in 1997 she was eighth over the middle distance, in the German Championships in 1998 , she missed a medal against Marlies Hartlieb , three seconds behind, in fourth place.
Liedtke is Germany's most successful summer biathlete and has so far won 33 national championship titles. It can also show successes internationally. In 2001 she won a sprint race in the Summer Biathlon European Cup in Clausthal-Zellerfeld and another five podium finishes followed by 2006. Liedtke first took part in the Summer Biathlon World Championships in 2003 in Forni Avoltri . In sprint and pursuit she was eleventh there, in the mass start ninth. A year later she reached tenth place in sprint and pursuit in Osrblie , and 19th in pursuit. The 2004 European Championships in Clausthal-Zellerfeld were even more successful. She still missed a medal as fourth in the sprint, but was able to improve to third in the pursuit and thus win the bronze medal. The Berliner also won silver in the mixed relay. Liedtke was able to repeat second place with the mixed relay at the EM 2005 in Bystrice , and she also won silver in the mass start competition. She was ninth in the sprint. Their last world championships were the title fights of 2006 for Ufa . There she finished eleventh in the sprint and ninth in the pursuit. After that, Liedtke ended her active international career, but started at the national level until 2009 , when she won her 33rd title at German championships in the air rifle mass start in Zinnwald . With a total of 53 medals at German championships, she is the most successful summer biathlete in Germany.
