Monique van Vooren (born March 25, 1927 in Brussels , Belgium , † January 25, 2020 in New York City , United States ) was a Belgian film and television actress.

life and career

Monique van Vooren was, mainly in the 1950s and 1960s, an actress in numerous international film productions such as Tarzan Breaking the Chains (1953, with Lex Barker ) or Gigi (1958, with Maurice Chevalier ). In addition, she had a television career as a "guest star" of various television shows and programs, for example in 1968 in two episodes of the US television series Batman . In 1973 she played her best-known film role as 'Baroness Frankenstein' in the Italian-French co-production Andy Warhol's Frankenstein directed by Paul Morrissey . That same year she appeared in a minor supporting role in the Elizabeth Taylor - cast film The Rival . She also worked as a theater actress; so she appeared in 1953 in the play John Murray Anderson's Almanac on Broadway . After a break for decades, she returned in front of the camera one last time for Sean Ali Stone's horror thriller Greystone Park (2012).

In 1969 she was one of the jury members for the Miss Universe election .
