Tarzan breaks the chains (original title: Tarzan and the She-Devil ) is an American adventure film by Kurt Neumann from 1953. The basis for the script were the Tarzan novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs . The film premiered on June 18, 1953. In Germany, the film was first shown in cinemas on September 14, 1954.

More and more elephants are being killed in the hunt for precious ivory. But Tarzan stands by the pachyderms and prevents them time and again from falling into the trap of the hunters. However, they are anything but happy about it, which is why they decide to use Tarzan's friend Jane as bait.

Lex Barker played the role of Tarzan for the fifth and final time. Jane was portrayed by Joyce Mackenzie, who became Jane's fifth actress alongside Lex Barker.
