Tarzan's death duel (original title: Tarzan's Three Challenges ) is an American - British adventure film from 1963 by Robert Day based on the Tarzan stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs . The film is the second Tarzan adventure with Jock Mahoney in the title role.
action
Tarim, the ruler of Sun Mai, is dying. His brother Khan plans to take the throne to bring his own son into line of succession. Kashi, Tarim's son and legal successor, lives in another kingdom. He asks Tarzan to come with him to Sun Mai. When Tarzan arrives from Africa, monks arrange for him to undergo tests to confirm his identity. After Tarzan has passed the tests in which he had to measure himself in agility, strength and intelligence, the monks accept Tarzan as the prince's companion.
On the trip to Sun Mai, the group is attacked by Khan's men. Kashi and his governess Cho San are captured. Tarzan is able to free them and reach Sun Mai with them. Khan manages to get Kashi to undergo tests to prove his abilities as heir to the throne and ruler. Kashi takes three of these tests himself and passes them. For the fourth test, a life and death fight against Khan, Tarzan competes for Kashi. Tarzan and Khan fight with knives. They move on a net that is stretched over a pit with glowing coals. Tarzan defeats Khan so that Kashi can be crowned the new ruler.
background

In the television series with Ron Ely , produced between 1966 and 1969 , he was seen in seven episodes. Co-author Berne Giler was also previously involved in Tarzan films ( Tarzan's greatest adventure and Tarzan the mighty ).

Reviews
The lexicon of international films described the film as a "[t] rivial mixture of folklore and adventure, not particularly exciting". According to Variety , the producers had "deducted a lot of his character identity" from the title hero. He is “a man without a country and only with a fraction of his previous personality”.
