action

The gang around the notorious Banton family, consisting of their father Abel and his four sons, raids the mining company's payroll office. A police officer is shot dead by the wanted Coy Banton. After being chased, Inspector Winters succeeds in overpowering Coy at night and kidnapping him from the group. Two of the Bantons ambush Winters on the way back and shoot him. Tarzan, who happened to be nearby, was able to prevent the attempt at liberation by killing one of the attackers and bringing Coy to the nearby settlement of Mantu.

Tarzan wants the reward on Coy for Winters' wife and children. To do this, Coy has to be delivered to the city of Kairobi. The fearful residents refuse to help Tarzan. Abel Banton tries to make the extradition of his son to the authorities more difficult by robbing the ship to Kairobi and blowing it up. Then he and his two remaining sons threatened the villagers with sanctions if they should help Tarzan. Tarzan, who has been hiding with Clay, is only accompanied by the sailor Tate and the passengers of the destroyed boat, consisting of the businessman Ames with his wife, the young Lori and the medic Conway.

The group of natives is captured on the march through the jungle. They blame Clay for the death of a tribe member and demand his execution. When Conway helps the chief's pregnant wife with the birth, he lets the group go out of gratitude. During the further trip Coy leaves traces for his family, tries to turn the group against each other and flirts bluntly with Ames' wife.

When the Bantons attack the group, Tate is shot and Tarzan has to hide in quicksand with Coy. Hence, he is separated from the rest of the group. He manages to get back in time to prevent Johnny from raping Loris. A shot is fired during a duel and the youngest Banton dies. Eathon Banton argues with his father over the grave of his younger brother and abandons him. At night Fay frees Coy, with whom she has fallen in love, and the two escape. When she gets tired, Fay is left behind by Coy and killed by a lion shortly afterwards. Tarzan takes up the chase and puts the two Bantons at the waterfalls. Coy accidentally shoots his father. In the ensuing duel, Tarzan defeats Coy and delivers him and the three remaining travelers to the police authorities.
