Paul Sawtell

Paul Sawtell (born February 3, 1906 in Gilve , † August 1, 1971 in Los Angeles ) was an American film composer born in Poland .

Life

Sawtell began his career at RKO Pictures and later moves to Universal Studios . He composed mainly for westerns and horror films (partly with Bert Shefter ). The most important films he worked on include the Sherlock Holmes films The Pearl of Borgia and The Claw . In the late 1940s he moved back to RKO Pictures. He also worked for various independent film production companies such as Eagle-Lion Films . His work includes more than 300 productions.

Sawtell was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale .
