Monita Rajpal

Monita Rajpal (born February 19, 1974 in Hong Kong ) is a Canadian journalist and former anchorwoman at CNN International .

She comes from a Sikh family and has siblings. She speaks English , French , Cantonese and Punjabi .

Life

Moved to Canada with her family as a child , she received her BAA (Bachelor of Applied Arts) degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson Polytechnic University (now Ryerson University ) in Toronto in 1996 . She then worked at Toronto's Pulse24 news channel. In 2001 she came to CNN's Atlanta studio, where she worked until 2004.

Since 2004 she worked in the London branch of CNN, in the so-called Turner House. She hosted the morning program CNN Today, also known as the CNN Morning Show, together with changing colleagues such as Max Foster, Richard Quest and Adrian Finighan. From the second half of 2012 she worked for CNN International in Hong Kong, where she said goodbye on July 4, 2014 after 13 years with CNN.

Monita Rajpal interviewed some celebrities and politicians, including Mikhail Gorbachev , Ehud Barak , as well as the presidents Vicente Fox , Alejandro Toledo , Andrés Pastrana and Moses Blah , as well as the musicians Bob Geldof , Peter Gabriel and Dido .
