history

Today's club emerged from a merger of the Boucs de Megève , the French champions from 1984, and the Sporting Hockey Club Saint Gervais . The latter had already won the state championship in 1969, 1974, 1975, 1983, 1985 and 1986.

Initially, the newly founded club was called "Aigles du Mont-Blanc" (German: Adler Mont-Blanc ) and from 1986 to 1989 took part in three seasons of the first-class National 1A . In 1987 and 1988, the team became French champions again for the first time after the merger.

From 2002, the club played in the second division, before after winning the title in Division 1 in the 2005/06 season under the team name Avalanche du Mont-Blanc, promotion to Ligue Magnus followed. After the 2010/11 season , the club was relegated to the second-rate Division 1.

From 2010 onwards, the association set the nickname “Avalanche Mont-Blanc” (German: Lawine Mont-Blanc ) in favor of the “Yétis du Mont-Blanc”.
