Monte is a place and a municipality in northern Portugal .

The parish church Igreja Paroquial de Monte , also Igreja de Santo António after its patron saint , is a listed building .

history

The municipality of Bunheiro originally developed around the two main towns Bunheiro and Sedouros and belonged to the Estarreja district . In 1926 Bunheiro became an independent municipality in the Murtosa district, while the areas around Sedouros became part of the Murtosa municipality.

With the law of July 17, 1933 ( decreto-lei nº 22.832, de 17/07/1933 ) the municipality of Monte was created by outsourcing it from the municipality of Murtosa.
