Map of Greenwich Island with the Montecinos Cove |
The Montecinos Cove ( Spanish Ensenada Montecinos ) is a side bay of the Discovery Bay of Greenwich Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It lies between Ferrer Point in the west and Sotos Point in the east.
Scientists from the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) named it after an officer involved in the research trip. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated the name into English in 2005.
