Monument is a city in El Paso County in the US state of Colorado in the United States . Almost 5500 inhabitants live on an area of ​​12 km².

Monument is just a few miles north of Colorado Springs .

The first settlers came in 1865, with a railway station in 1872, Henry's Station was founded in 1879. The current name, derived from the impressive Rock Monument in the west of the city, has existed since 1882.
