Tödtenried is a parish village and part of the community Sielenbach in the district of Aichach-Friedberg , which belongs to the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .
The district also includes the wastelands of Heilbach , Holzgrub , Morabach , Oberhaslach , Unterhaslach and Unterschröttenloh .

geography

Tödtenried is located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country , which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural spatial units in Germany .

Tödtenried is about two kilometers south of Sielenbach.
Morabach is about 400 m north, Ober- and Unterhaslach about 1.2 kilometers northeast, Unterschröttenloh about one kilometer east, Holzgrub about one kilometer southeast and Heilbach about one kilometer west of Tödtenried.

Tödtenried is located on the state road St 2338 from Adelzhausen to Klingen , which runs in a south-north direction , on which Morabach is also further north.

Tödtenried lies in the valley of the Ecknach , which runs parallel to the state road in a south-north direction , in the south-west of Tödtenried the Kabisbach ( coming from Tattenhausen , Rieden and Heilbach in the west) as a left tributary and directly west of Tödtenried the Schröttenlohgraben (from Ober- and Unterschröttenloh in the east coming and flowing through Tödtenried) flow as a right tributary. The Ecknach comes from Adelzhausen and Irschenhofen in the south and flows on to Sielenbach, Klingen, Ecknach and finally Aichach in the north, as it flows into the Paar as a right tributary .

history

Until July 1, 1972, Tödtenried and its districts belonged to the district of Aichach as an independent municipality and was added to the newly founded district of Aichach-Friedberg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On January 1, 1978, it was incorporated into Sielenbach.

The Catholic parish Sankt Katharina in Tödtenried belongs to the deanery of Aichach-Friedberg in the diocese of Augsburg. The parish also includes the Sankt Nikolaus branch in Kiemertshofen and the towns of Heilbach, Hehleich , Holzgrub, Morabach, Ober- and Unterhaslach, Oberschröttenloh , Unterschröttenloh and Schloßberg .
