Murder Without Memory (Original title: The Sleepwalker Killing ) is an American crime film from 1997 . Directed by John Cosgrove and written by Lyle Slack basis of the book Sleepwalker of June Callwood .

action

One night Mark Schall finds his mother-in-law killed and her husband seriously injured; he's calling the police. Since he is smeared with blood and has a criminal record, he is arrested on charges of murder. Schall himself claims that he cannot remember the act. Neither the police nor his wife Lauren believe him.

Schall's defense presented the court with a theory according to which Schall was a sleepwalker and allegedly committed the crime in his sleep. This theory is confirmed by a scientist. Since then, his wife has feared that Schall could repeat the murder if she confirmed the theory with her testimony and if he were released. Nevertheless, she makes a statement that exonerates her husband. Schall is acquitted. He later replied to one of the reporters' questions that he was under medical observation and was therefore not afraid that he might commit another similar act.
