Moritz Brückner (District Administrator)

Ernst Moritz Karl Brückner (born January 7, 1807 in Volkenroda , † June 22, 1887 in Gotha ) was a German administrative lawyer and parliamentarian.

Life

After attending grammar school in Gotha, Ernst Moritz Karl Brückner studied law at the University of Jena and the Georg-August University of Göttingen . In 1822 he became a member of the Corps Thuringia Jena . After graduating, he passed the state service exam in the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha in 1825 and became an accessist in the Georgenthal office. In 1826 he switched to the senior consistory in Gotha as an accessist. In 1829 he became registrar there. He also worked as a lawyer. He was an actuary and later a court clerk at the Wangenheim Patrimonial Court. In 1834 he became second councilor and consistory assessor at the princely chancellery of the princes of Hohenlohe-Kirchberg and -Langenburg in Ohrdruf . In 1838 he was appointed court and consistorial councilor. In 1848 he prevented an impending revolt in Ohrdruf through a diplomatic negotiation. In 1848 he was elected to the provisional and then to the final state parliament of the Duchy of Gotha after he had previously been the representative of the Prince of Hohenlohe in the old estate deputation day. The state law of 1849 was passed under his leadership as President of the Landtag. After the transfer of the Hohenlohe jurisdiction to the Gotha state, he became a judicial officer of the Ohrdruf office, in 1852 senior civil servant of the Georgenthal office and in 1858 after the separation of justice and administration, district administrator of the district office district of Ohrdruf . In 1875 he retired after fifty years of civil service.

The Reich judge Hermann Brückner was his son.
