Moritz Döring

Moritz Wilhelm Döring (born February 13, 1798 in Dresden , † October 29, 1856 in Freiberg ) was a German teacher and writer .

Life

Born the son of a businessman, Döring studied Protestant theology and philology in Leipzig after attending the Kreuzschule in Dresden . During his studies in 1818 he co-founded the Leipzig fraternity . Due to a blow , he was not admitted to the theological exam, so he shifted his studies to pedagogy and philology. In 1819 he became a collaborator at the Kreuzschule in Dresden and in 1820 the vice-principal at the grammar school in Freiberg. After his marriage in 1821 he had a son and four daughters. On his 25th anniversary with the company he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Leipzig .
