Moritz Wilhelm Heffter
Moritz Wilhelm Heffter (born October 7, 1792 in Schweinitz , Electorate of Saxony , † July 8, 1873 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) was a German historian and high school teacher.
Life
Born as the son of General Admission Commissioner Johann Christian Heffter (1746–1830), he enjoyed his first lessons from private tutors. From 1807 to 1813 he was a student at the Saxon princely school St. Augustin in Grimma . Like his younger brother August Wilhelm Heffter, he studied at the University of Leipzig from 1814 and later moved to the University of Halle. From 1824 he was vice rector and from 1831 vice rector at the grammar school in Brandenburg an der Havel . Moritz Wilhelm Heffter is the author of the list of names (3 volumes) for Adolph Friedrich Riedel's " Codex diplomaticus Brandenburgensis ".
