Morlas Memoria is a symphonic metal band from Dresden, founded in 2011 .

history

Morlas Memoria was founded in spring 2011 (as Morlas Enigma) by the siblings Leandra and Theo Johne. Tobias Ullmann, Marcel Schmidt and Eric Neufeld also belonged to the founding formation. The band's live activities began in the fall of the same year. In 2012, Morlas Memoria shared the stage with bands from the black scene such as Ost + Front , Stahlmann and Zeraphine .

In 2013 the band went to Peter Vanselow's Silent Sound Studio to record their first album. Shortly before the release of the material, the band had to rename itself because a lawyer for the Enigma music project wanted to sue the band's name. The band then changed their name to Morla's Memoria. "Follow The Wind" was finally released in May 2014 and was released under the musicians' own direction. Concerts in Germany, the Czech Republic and at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen followed .

At the beginning of 2016, Oliver Kunze replaced Tobias Ullmann on keyboard and Florian Baum took over from Eric Neufeld on lead guitar, who remained with the band as a technician. In the same year they went back to the Silent Sound studio to record a second album. In November 2017 "Mine Of Pictures" was released under the 7hard record label . In February 2018, Morlas Memoria resumed their live activities and went on tour with Lacrimosa , among others . In 2019 there was an appearance at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen , as well as another tour with Visions of Atlantis .

style

Morla's Memoria combine heavy metal and classical singing with orchestral arrangements and choirs. While the orchestral part was still cautious on the debut, it is a central trademark on “Mine Of Pictures”.
