The Moss Rose is a football stadium in the English town of Macclesfield , Cheshire East . The football club Macclesfield Town welcomes its opponents to the games in the stadium, which was built in 1891. The stadium now offers 6,335 seats on the four stands; 2,599 seats and 3,736 standing places. The attendance record of 9,003 spectators dates back to February 4, 1948, when Macclesfield Town met Winsford United in the second round of the Cheshire Senior Cup .

The venue consists of the Silk FM Main Stand , which was newly built in 1968 ; traditionally called the London Road Stand . It has a covered seating area in the middle and is available for home fans. The opposite stand Alfred McAlpine stand was completed in 2001. There are boxes and a dining area in the grandstands . The covered Star Lane HFS Loans stand on the south side consists of standing and seating. The rows of seats are arranged in front of the standing rows. The Silk Man End is an uncovered standing room and is available for the guest fans. It is named after the club's nickname, The Silkmen ( German  Die Seidenmänner ). If there is greater demand, 403 seats in the opposite stand will be released for fans of the opposing team.

After the Alfred McAlpine booth was completed , there were other plans; renovate the Macclesfield Town venue. In 2007 plans were presented for a new stadium in Macclesfield. However, this and other projects failed due to the lack of financial resources. In late 2010, the Cheshire East Council approved the redesign of Macclesfield city center and the South Macclesfield Development Area south of it . This area would be the location for the new stadium. The club is currently investing in the old venue; For the 2011/12 season, Moss Rose will have an office for ticket sales and a fan shop in the Alfred McAlpine stand .
