Mosteiro is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Mosteiro is part of the Vieira do Minho county in the Braga district . The community had an area of ​​11 km² and 773 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011)

history

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Mosteiró and Vilar were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Vilar e Mosteiró .
