Mount Bell is a cliff-shaped mountain with a height of 4305 m that forms the northeastern edge of the Grindley Plateau . It is located about ten kilometers southeast of Mount Mackellar in the Queen Alexandra chain of the Transantarctic Mountains .
The mountain was discovered by participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . It is named after William Bell, a cousin of Shackleton and sponsor of this expedition.
