Mount Dane is an icy and 580 m high mountain in the north of Radford Island in the Marshall Archipelago off the Saunders coast of the west Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It rises 5 km west-northwest of Eilefsen Peak .
The mountain was probably first sighted during overflights during the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928–1930). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1966 after Francis Smith Dane Jr. (1908-1979), dog sled driver on the second Antarctic expedition (1933-1935) of the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd .
