Mount Gavaghan is a 1525 m high mountain in Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . In the Porthos Range , a mountain range of the Prince Charles Mountains , it looms between Mount Kirkby and Mount Creighton .
The mountain was mapped using aerial photographs taken by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named him after Eamonn Joseph Gavaghan (1927-2003), a radio operator at Mawson Station in 1963.
